2003- 1050 miles: A strong start, but a virus takes its toll after August.

Forty-four rides, from February through August, then I couldn’t continue.

Observation Log 12/27/03

12/27/03- Oberwerk 11×70 binoculars– Andromeda Galaxy M31 easily spotted. Orion Nebula, nebulosity clearly visible. First split double: Delta Cephei! Saturn & moon Titan. Attempted M33 (Pinwheel Galaxy), not sure- it was very dim.

First light with my new Oberwerks 11×70 binoculars!

12/1/03- Oberwerk 11×70 binoculars– first light: Pleiades– wow! At least 25 stars. Cassiopeia nice. Andromeda Galaxy M31 a bit disappointing, probably due to waxing gibbous moon. Moon itself very crisp & dramatic @ terminator.
