Link: 371 Interesting but Useless Facts

The list is a fascinating read. A few of the facts seem a bit dated, such as “259. Average number of people airborne over the U.S. during any given hour: 61,000.” I recall hearing almost double that number in 2001. Some seem hard to verify such as “32. A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds.” A few are a bit off-color or perhaps best left as obscure facts. Some are humorous, like “251. When someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head.” Nearly all of them are Interesting but Useless!

Here are a few more, in case you aren’t yet sure:

    77. 12 or more cows is called a flink.
    102. The green stuff on the occasional freak potato chip is chlorophyll.
    151. The colder the room you sleep in, the better the chances are that you’ll have a bad dream.
    218. Ants stretch when they wake up in the morning.
    321. You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching television.
    346. It is impossible to lick your elbow. [What about Gene Simmons? -Ed.]

Here again is the whole list.
