2004- Ride #8: 19.4 miles, 199.1 total.

Dad and I take our second ride together this year, again through Carlisle and Concord MA.

This was Dad’s second ride of the year, and he’d spent hours mowing his lawn yesterday, so his energy wasn’t up to its usual level. It was windier than predicted, and even a bit cool at times. Most of the riders we met (and there were many) were wearing windbreakers. Still, it was a great ride, with a beautiful clear blue sky. And as always, it’s great riding with Dad.

Two hundred miles is just around the corner.

Stoopid Stuff Stuck In My Head During The Ride was… nothing! What a nice surprise! Dad and I had been humming snatches of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (iTunes required for link) before heading out, but my mind was pleasantly quiet for the whole ride. That’s the first time this year.
