Two great, current pictures of Comet NEAT C/2001 Q4!

This comes from Bud Guinn on the SCT-user Yahoo Group. There’s a beauty of the comet in the Beehive Cluster, the best close-up I’ve seen so far.

Hi all….been awhile since I’ve posted anything.

Took these last night…5.14.04. The comet is passing through the Beehive Cluster (M44), and again tonight. I took a widefield that shows the Cluster and the comet and then a closeup of the comet. The widefield is using a Minolta 55mm camera lens attached to my astro camera….The closeup is in the “fastar” mode of the scope.

The comet in the widefield is a little bit bigger because of the stacking and I’ll be pleased if I ever learn to take flat frames correctly for the vignetting….oh well…if it was easy anyone could do it.

Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome,
